Reading the site

Reading echoblic requires no account and no email address. No advertising or measurement cookies, no profiling, in particular political. Audience measurement counts page views in aggregate, without cookies, without identifiers and without keeping IP addresses (see “Cookies and audience measurement”).

Server logs: IP address, date, page requested and browser type, kept for 14 days at most for the site's security, then deleted. Basis: legitimate interest in protecting the service.

Account, alerts and newsletter

The newsletter will open soon. If you create an account (or later subscribe to the newsletter), echoblic keeps: your email address, chosen language, preferences, follows (countries, topics, saved searches), saved events and the date of your consents. Nothing else: no reading history, no inference of your opinions. This data is used only to sign you in and send you what you asked for.

Basis: your request (performance of the service) and your consent for the newsletter, which you can withdraw in one click. Retention: as long as the account exists; an account not used for 24 months is deleted. Email delivery: Brevo, a service of Sendinblue SAS (France), in the European Union, outside Morocco.

Third-party services called by your browser

Displaying a map loads OpenFreeMap basemaps; photos are reduced copies kept on echoblic's server (a photo not yet copied is loaded from Wikimedia); an earthquake or cyclone map is loaded from the US public agencies that publish it (USGS, NOAA). These services then receive your IP address, as for any web page. Share links (WhatsApp, X, Facebook, LinkedIn) are plain links: nothing is loaded until you click.

Your rights

Moroccan law 09-08 and, where applicable, EU Regulation 2016/679: access, rectification, objection, erasure and portability. From your account you can download your data and delete your account yourself. Otherwise write to privacy@echoblic.com; answer within 30 days at most. You may complain to the CNDP (Morocco) or your country's authority. CNDP filing: in preparation; accounts will open only once it has been acknowledged.
